That’s right. I ate so many carbs today that I thought it deserved its own moniker. My appetite is all over the food map right now, and it seems I can only find my way home by scarfing down a trail of breadcrumbs cereal, macaroni and cheese, crackers, chips…oh, the starchiness! So sorry for no “Meg Makes It On Monday” yesterday. I couldn’t bring myself to do anything other than boil water for Velveeta Shells & Cheese. Can any pregnant women or moms out there relate? I hope I’m not alone!

I am almost in week 7 of my pregnancy, and I’m definitely starting to feel it. Besides the sleep, of course, I get nauseous around 9 a.m. and pretty much stay that way until bedtime. I started crying for absolutely no reason on the way to work this morning. And food? We have a very love/hate relationship right now. Broccoli is normally one of my favorite vegetables, but I had some yesterday and today, and I wanted to yack with every bite. Boo! And its like that with just about every food that comes to mind. Well, besides carbs of course. Ha! Here’s a few of today’s eats:

Breakfast: Chobani strawberry Greek yogurt, one cup Kashi GoLean Crunch and a sliced banana

Snack: Apple. This actually helped with the nausea a lot!

Lunch: Leftover mac n cheese with broccoli mixed in -- the broccoli made me want to ralph, but I ate it anyway for the nutrients.

Another snack: Peanut butter crackers. I thought it would tame the tummy. I was wrong.

I also had a few undocumented pita chips and 2 tablespoons hummus when I got home. Sabra has a spicy variety of hummus now that is so delicious! But what Sabra hummus isn’t? Oh, and a square of Ghirardelli dark chocolate may have also been consumed.

So, I don’t think I had a terrible day of food so far, and I am tracking it all, but I normally would eat way more veggies than this. (I’m feeling queasy just typing the word veggies…blech.)

I’m going to try to sip some club soda with a little grape juice mixed in and see if that will help calm the nausea enough for me to work out. It is absolutely frigid outside, so I’m going to stick with the elliptical and hopefully throw some light weights into the mix. Doc and Babyfit.com approved!
