Well, friends, I did it…I reached a major milestone this week!! I got on the scale this morning for my weekly weigh in, and I was 2 pounds down. I guess my Thanksgiving splurge didn’t put a dent in my progress after all! So in total, that’s 5 pounds since the switcheroo from Weight Watchers to calorie counting three weeks ago. And, that puts me into an entirely new weight bracket!!! If I wasn’t terrified of heights, I would shout it from the rooftops. HAPPY, HAPPY, HAPPY day!
(Sorry for no progress picture this morning…my “photographer” was in the shower, and I needed to leave for work! I’ll try to post one later today.)
I can’t even tell you what this 5 pounds means to me. I have fought tooth and nail to get here, and I’m going to keep moving (literally) forward to lose the 18 pounds I have left to reach my goal weight.
Here’s a few non-scale victories I’m also celebrating:
→ I worked out six days last week. And, drum roll please, I GOT OUT OF BED THIS MORNING AND WORKED OUT!! I wore workout clothes to bed last night, grumbled all the way to the elliptical (LOL), and did a 30-minute session, plus ab work and jump rope, but without the rope. (I picked that exercise up from Jillian’s Shred.) I actually felt really good afterwards, and it’s nice that I don’t have to worry about doing any exercising tonight.
→ I took my bridesmaids dress for alterations Tuesday, and they had to take the top in quite a bit.
→ Minus Friday’s meal at my parent’s house, I stayed in my calorie range and tracked it all in my Sparkpeople log.
→ I’ve been rockin’ on my water intake. And, I haven’t had a Coke Zero (I’ve had a bit of a caffeine relapse since giving up the stuff a few months ago) since Sunday. I did have iced tea sweetened with Splenda, but I’m hoping to eliminate all artificial sweeteners very soon! It’s a hard habit to break.
My goals for this week are to lose two more pounds, which would take me to the weight I was when I got married a year and a half ago, and incorporate a new workout into my usual regimen. Maybe I’ll finally make it to that BodyPump class.
A huge thank you to all who take time out of your day to read my ramblings, have become fans on my Facebook page, and left me encouraging messages and advice. I truly feel that starting this blog and having you all support me has kept me going through this tough battle of losing weight. Sniff…I’m verklempt…talk amongst yourselves… (Loved Mike Meyers “Coffee Talk” on SNL! It’s on YouTube and Hulu if you haven’t seen it.)
Have a happy, healthy, fantastic Wednesday!
