I’d just like to start this post out by saying SORRY for not updating over the weekend like I said I was going to! It truly has been a crazy, hectic few weeks.
With my due date only 10 short weeks away, the husband and I are full speed ahead on the baby train, and have been spending most all of our time preparing for our little girl’s arrival. In just the past few days alone, we:
Attended our first prepared childbirth class, and a 2-hour breastfeeding workshop. And no, I did not have to drag JD there. Ha ha! He even piped up and asked the instructor a couple of questions. I have already gotten so much out of these sessions, and it’s nice to be around other couples going through the same experiences. The prepared childbirth class has eased a lot of the anxiety I have about labor & delivery, and truly made me think about and research more on how I want my experience to be (that is, if I have a regular delivery and no complications). I never thought I’d EVER say this, but I’m even considering going all natural. I’m not writing “NO EPIDURAL” in my birth plan just yet, but it’s definitely something I’m giving a lot of thought about. Being a first-timer here, I don’t want to have too many plans or expectations and then get stressed/upset out if I – or my medical team — decide to go another route. My sister had to have an emergency C-section with her first baby, so sometimes, you just never know what could happen. We have four more sessions in our prepared childbirth class, so the more informed I become, the better.
Had our 4D ultrasound. Our baby girl was very active during the ultrasound, so the doctor couldn’t get a whole lot of good shots of her. He did get this pic of her sweet face…I absolutely love those cheeks!
*In case you are wondering, I’m Rh Negative, so I had to get the shot to protect the baby and any future babies from developing antibodies to my blood if they have a positive blood type.
Got baby girl’s bedding and picked out a color for the nursery. Since my family nickname is “baby bird,” JD and I decided that would be a good theme for the girl’s room. I found the perfect bedding online, and my sweet mother in law bought it for us a few weeks ago. It came in, and I absolutely love it! It’s still in the box waiting to be washed, but here’s a pic of it if you want to check it out.
The bedding has a beautiful shade of green in it, which we matched at Home Depot for our paint color. We are still deciding what’s going on the walls, but I know an 11×14 of this will be:

So, are some of you still awake after all this pregnancy talk? :) I actually don’t have a lot of news on the exercise and food front, since this baby seems to be the only thing I can think about these days. But I can say that I’m eating well for the most part (I did indulge in a pizza craving over the weekend while out with friends) and exercising when I can and feel up to it.
It is getting a lot harder to get through workouts with extra weight on, being exhausted, swelling like a sausage, etc., but I actually think I’ve done a pretty good job exercising throughout this pregnancy. We don’t have any errands or classes tonight, surprisingly, so I’m going to do Summer Sanders Prenatal Workout when I get home. I really love the light cardio and strength training combo in this DVD. Maybe all those labor lunges will actually help me through labor!
Lastly, and I can never say this enough, I would like to say a big thanks to all of you who have kept up with my blog and encouraged me throughout this pregnancy. I’m definitely going to need that support when it comes time to take the baby weight off! And I’m so inspired to lose those pounds – plus some – after reading about the awesome things my friends and blogger friends are doing to achieve a healthier lifestyle. You all are amazing!!
Have a fantastic rest of the week!

Awe!! The ultrasound is so precious! I can’t believe you only have 10 weeks left!
I LOVE the theme of your little baby girl’s room!
Can’t believe you only have ten weeks left! I’m so excited to keep reading updates. You look great!
You are doing such a great job with pregnancy. I didn’t know you were thinking about going natural.
Thank you, Brittany, Becca and Babs! I can’t believe we have 10 weeks left either…so crazy how fast time goes by. We’ll be celebrating her first birthday before we know it. And I just started thinking about going all natural after taking these childbirth and breastfeeding classes. I’m not sold on it yet, but we’ll see!
