Whistle while we work

Hey, everyone! I’m sorry I’ve been absent from the blogosphere for a few days. I hope you all had a wonderful NYE and a great start to 2010!  Over at our casa, JD and I have spent the past few days cleaning and organizing  like nobody’s business! I don’t know if it’s nesting kicking in, or just wanting a pristine house to go along with a fresh new year, but I feel the need to deep clean every nook and cranny in sight. We have packed away all the Christmas decorations, cleaned out and organized the pantry, fridge and closets, had a maj-ah trash haul, and we are still not done! Whew…I’m taking a break to write this before I get some gloves on and scrub some toilets. Sexy, I know.

To get some energy for this cleaning frenzy, the husband made a scrumptious breakfast this morning — french toast! I was leaping to the table. I haven’t had french toast in ages.

Served with banana slices and a small side of syrup — yum-o!

I haven’t worked out yet today, but it is definitely on the agenda. I feel so sluggish these days, and I think a good workout will help. My body is going through so many weird changes in this first trimester — I feel like my hips and stomach are expanding by the second. I read that weight gain usually starts around week 6 of pregnancy…and guess what week I’m in? Yep, 6. I’ve decided not to get on the scale though. I know I’m going to gain weight, and I’m more than ok with that because I’d do anything for little Bean. As long as I stick to my 2,000 calories a day, eat healthy foods and work out, I should be just fine. I will say the exercise has been hard. I’m so tired right now that it is hard to get motivated. And I have this irrational fear that I’m going to hurt the baby, even though my doctor told me I could continue with my normal routine. I’ve just got to charge ahead and find that motivation I’ve staunchly had while working on weight loss. Now if only the nausea and fatigue would get the memo….

I hear a drill going off in the kitchen, so I better go investigate what kind of honey-do project the husband is doing. Have a wonderful weekend!
